The river downstream from Fiddleford weirpool.

Downstream from the Trailway bridge the river becomes shallower and streamy with excellent winter fishing once the weed has cleared. There is a good head of chub to 6lbs plus and lots of roach - ideal for traditional stick float angling for the roach or trying bread on the running line or ledger for the chub and bigger roach. There are also big perch here and some specimen pike.
On the left-hand bank we have the downstream length of about a mile down to where the Wesper brook comes into the river and on the right-hand bank we have all the way downstream to one meadow above Hammoon bridge.
More detail below.
The YELLOW lines show our fishing lengths and the RED line shows where we previously had the fishing (now subject to renegotiation.)
The map below shows the access to our stretch above Hammoon bridge. From the A357 take the road to Hammoon, turn left towards the signposted farmhouse, park on the verge to the right opposite the farmhouse and follow the track and the directions on the map (black lines) down to the river.
