Wood Lane, Colber, Durrant

From Wood Lane downstream to Sturminster Mill at the end of the 'Durrant' stretch the river runs slow and deep with lots of roach, big perch, pike and bream with a few good tench and the occasional chub being caught. When the weed clears in autumn the shallower stretches below the footbridge at Colber and the river between the mill and Town Bridge can be very good for roach.
The new car park is to be built next to the hedge in the field bordering the meadow next to the river, this should allow anglers to get much nearer to the river than at present and should be completed by end-September.

Update 10th May 2013:
Car park now under construction and should be completed before start of new season.

Other car parking is available along Bath Road above the Colber stretch ie the middle length of this part of the river. More parking near the Recreation Ground and at the mill for the lower reaches of this area.
