Sturminster & Hinton AA juniors visited Cowslip farm last week all catching but unusually finding fish hard to come by. First on the day was Cameron Vinning with 3lb1oz, second was Jordan Coultard with 3lb and third was Joshua Hunt with 2lb 7oz. Cameron is pictured left.

Junior Secretary, Ashley Burt, has booked the scout hut in Sturminster Recreation ground for Saturday the 6^th and 13^th June for the first two junior fishing lessons, also an advert in the Community.Com Magazine. After this he is planning for Juniors to fish in Durrant for a couple of weeks and then hold some Junior matches. Lessons are free but Juniors will have to buy a club licence when fishing. On Saturday 23rd September, Junior Secretary, Dan Escott is running a match for the juniors at Lodden Lakes. Juniors are encouraged to turn up for this excellent venue, all are expected to get a good bag of fish on the day. Names to Dan on 07768 092796 as soon as possible.

Junior Secretary Dan Escott has arranged a couple of  good matches for the S&HAA Juniors in the near future. There's a match at Revels fishery on September 16th and another one on Lodden Lakes on September 23rd. These venues normally produce good weights so book in with Dan on 07768 092796.

April 2005    Teresa Goddard and Martin Drake hope to run several matches at Highbench during the school summer holidays. Anyone interested should contact Teresa on 01258 472069.

Unfortunately The Angling for beginners scheme and junior matches are not being held during the 2004/5 season as no one could be found to act as Junior Match Secretary following the resignation of Steve Dimmer.

Steve Dimmer and Freddie Starks successfully run Angling for beginners each year and this take the form of two classroom sessions, usually in May, followed by a demonstration at Highbench lake and then a match. The winner receives a shield and Steve provides lots of prizes. To fish the match youngsters have to attend at least one of the classroom sessions so the next chance of this is 2004.

However there are matches on the last Saturday of each month - Steve says these carry on until it is too cold or the youngsters get fed up!
