Dorset Environmental Health Dept. have been in contact with the Club to report that a vet has treated a dog suffering from the possible effects of Blue/Green Algae after swimming in the river at Fiddleford Mill.  There is yet to be any confirmation of the suspicion but everyone is advised to take the obvious precautions against contamination.
We are encouraging the EA urgently to take samples in order to confirm or deny the existence of this organism in our river and will update members as soon as further information comes to light.
